What is the Chevy E10 Concept?
This concept vehicle is a 1962 C-10 truck that is powered by an electric Connect & Cruise concept package. The idea is that you combine the looks of a classic vehicle with the electrification of the future. Also, this vehicle would produce plenty of power to make this vehicle exciting to drive. How will the Electric System in This Vehicle Work?
The Connect & Cruise electric system is composed of several different features. First, this has a double stack of eCrate or electronic crate motors. Next, it has two 400-volt batteries. Finally, it has a SuperMatic automatic transmission.
This vehicle is estimated to give out 450-horsepower. The idea is that it will get you from zero to 60 in just five seconds. It also has a projected quarter-mile time of 13 to 14 seconds. That means you not only get the electrification you want and the looks you want, but you also get the power you are looking for.
The Chevy E10 concept would be a true innovation, and Chevy says that it is possible. Part of the system that would make this vehicle possible is already being used in the Chevy Bolt EV, so with a few changes and some new technology, you can get the electrification and the power.
“The Chevrolet E-10 electrified Connect & Cruise concept system re-imagines the performance crate engine for hot rodders,” said Jim Campbell, vice president of Performance and Motorsports. “As General Motors continues to work toward our vision of a zero-emissions world, concepts such as this help us get there, while still supporting the enthusiasts who love to drive vintage vehicles.”
