Silverado EV

At Smith Chevrolet Lowell, we have the best selection of new and used cars, trucks, and SUVs. As new vehicles become available, you can expect Smith Lowell to have them in stock and ready. Chevy is always at the forefront of innovation. One of the most anticipated releases will be the 2023 Silverado EV.

It’ll feature six trims, including WT, LT, LTZ, Trail Boss, High Country, and RST. With a starting price of $42,000, it’s certainly an affordable electric truck for many families.

While many electric vehicles don’t require fuel, they tend to sacrifice power and acceleration. Fortunately, this EV truck features a robust acceleration performance powered by its two electric motors. The top-spec RST claims an impressive horsepower rating of 664 horsepower, while the base WT trim provides 510 horsepower.

Range, charge, and battery life are among the most important factors in most consumers’ decision processes. The Silverado EV uses a strong 200-kWh battery pack and may give the EV a driving range of 400 miles per charge. Not to mention, with its incredibly fast DC charging capability, drivers can add 100 miles of range just by charging for 10 minutes.

Exterior and Interior

Unlike the traditional body-on-frame Silverado or the F-150 Lighting, this electric truck is a unibody vehicle. The truck is designed with a fixed glass roof providing expansive views and increased headroom. As a result, the truck feels more luxurious.

Although the Silverado EV is about similar in size to its gas counterpart, the inside is considerably larger. The Silverado EV has gone away from the optional leather from the traditional Silverado and opted to go with vinyl, PVC, and other sustainable materials that are easy to clean and comfortable.

While Chevrolet hasn’t disclosed any information on the vehicle’s safety features, they are expected to come with innovative tech functions like:

  • Adaptive cruise control
  • Lane keeps assisting with lane-departure warning
  • Automatic emergency braking and pedestrian detection

In addition, the Silverado will be equipped with their proprietary Super Cruise driver assistance technology. It’s their autonomous hands-free driving system allowing drivers that use sensors watching the road, high-definition maps, and an in-car monitoring system for driver attentiveness. The technology is integrated with adaptive cruise control to control the acceleration and braking of the vehicle to maintain a safe distance from other vehicles.
